Philip Courtney

Philip Courtney has been the CEO of Urban Arts Partnership since 2003. Since that time the organization has grown into New York City’s largest arts education organization, directly serving more than 100 schools, 500 teachers and 12,000 students this year. In 2011, Philip spearheaded UAP’s national expansion to the Los Angeles Unified School District where the organization is serving 10 schools, 40 teachers and 1,300 students. More recently, Philip oversaw UAP’s acquisition of NYC based Manhattan New Music Project, assuming the management of their i3 (Investing In Innovation) grant from the US Department of Education. Philip is a contributing writer to the NYCDOE Blueprint of the Arts, served on the panel at New York State Council on The Arts, and is part of a consortium of arts organizations engaging NYC politicians on their vision for arts education.
