EASE is delighted to announce some exciting news as we continue to kick off the school year!
EASE is the recipient of the Professional Development for Arts Educators (PDAE) grant in partnership with NYC’s District 75, allowing us to build upon our successful programs to launch innovative new initiatives over the next four years.
The PDAE grant will support an unprecedented partnership among UAP, NYC special education District 75 and the Los Angeles Unified School District. Implemented across the country, this program will provide professional development for educators of elementary school students with disabilities, improving teachers’ knowledge in the arts and increasing students’ art skills, social-emotional learning, and academic achievement. Best practices will be disseminated digitally, creating an online network of educators collaborating from coast to coast.
Demonstrating its commitment to arts education, the USDOE has awarded a total of $13.4 million to organizations across the country to share effective models of arts education that support student achievement and help arts educators improve arts instruction. We congratulate our fellow recipients and thank U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand for their continued support.
We are thrilled to launch these programs and look forward to keeping you updated on our successes to come.
