Urban Arts Partnership students from New York and Los Angeles have a unique opportunity to interact with artists and designers, cutting-edge technology, and fascinating works of art, thanks to our new partnership with Toyota and The Creator’s Project.

UAP_1Last week in NYC, we paid a visit to the launch of the Future Forward event series, and met a designer from Vice who led UAP students and recent alumni on a special tour of art installations that explore the intersection of art and technology. We saw a heat-seeking chandelier, played a Prius like a piano (with a light show built in!), and moved a living wall with lasers that responded to our bodies.

2016-06-04 12.33.40This incredible experience led us to think about what’s possible in our own art, and how we can use art and design to raise awareness of issues, solve problems, and imagine the future we most want to see. Stay tuned to see our response pieces, as well as to see what happens on our next stop at the Future Forward event in LA on June 25!

Thank you to Toyota Giving for supporting our programs and making this experience possible for UAP’s students.
