This year, UAP’s Alumni Mentor programs, iCONNECT & Brotherhood/Sisterhood, are employing 13 young people to go into schools and mentor high school and middle school students. Our Mentors are uniquely equipped to connect with and guide their Mentees on the path towards success, self-advocacy, increased social-emotional skills, and leadership.
In order to recognize Mentors who have done an outstanding job in their role, we will be starting a tradition of selecting 3 mentors (2 iCONNECT, 1 Brotherhood/Sisterhood) each month to be shouted out for their efforts and for their impact with their students.
This month, Omar Cyrille (Brotherhood), Evelin Munoz (iCONNECT @ HSAII), and Kasiem Walters (iCONNECT @ Graphics HS & Kurt Hahn Expeditonary Learning School) were selected for the exceptional engagement skills, innovative techniques for motivating their Mentees, and for going above and beyond the expectations for their role.
Hats off to these superstars!
